Getting to the Core Problem of Ignorance

I'm noticing that ignorance is a major pitfall in the world today. If you've been a faithful reader, you'll notice that many of my blog posts have visited side effects of this theme. If you're ignorant of real security threats, you won't take necessary precautions to protect yourself and your property. If you're ignorant of the tools that others have graciously provided, you'll have to work much harder than you really need to. If you're not watching out for once-in-a-lifetime events and opportunities, you'll miss the train. Just today, I learned about patent trolls and how they've been plaguing creativity and innovation in general for the past decade. If you ignore trends like the wave of patent trolls, your new business might be building on a crumbling foundation. The Orders of Ignorance are a real phenomenon that could save you from a devastating future. Learn to look beyond your personal bubble--at least on occasion. It just might save your life.

  2. That is a lot of busy work trying to find out what the next big thing it. No doubt people are trying to find it, but we rarely see how big an idea like Google would ever be when they first come out. How would we know something isn't a short trend?

  3. I don't think that there is any good solution to this problem. I think that the internet can help expose us to a lot more of these type of ideas though, which should help us be exposed to more ideas

  5. It's hard not to be ignorant of many of the threats that face us. I agree that we should try to be informed, but even when we try to cover our bases there is much we still don't know.
